Unspeakable: A Collection of 8 Shorts

Performed in 2008 at The Santa Fe Film Center, Santa Fe, NM, as a fundraiser for The Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center. Here’s what the press had to say:

"If you're afraid of the big bad world out there, home is your safe haven. Unless home becomes the big bad world--as in the performance piece Unspeakable... The playwright focuses on a turning point--acknowledgement, denial, maybe even accusation--in the character's lives... Who can people turn to if it seems like everyone around them is either indifferent to, ignorant of, or directly responsible for their suffering?" Robert Nott, The Santa Fe New Mexican, click here to download pdf.

"Deborah wishes to break the taboos and exorcise the shame of the victims... She also employes humor, satire, and compassion to lighten the dramatic load... Deborah is attempting to demythologize the canard that the rape victim is somehow 'different.'" Jeff Laing, SantaFe.com, click here to download pdf.

"An evening of theater that explores the many faces of trauma: denial, miscommunication, lying and more. Unspeakable presents the dark side of life without being preachy, and the eight short plays tell stories from a variety of perspectives." Santa Fe Reporter, click here to download pdf.
